About Us
Glen Huntly, postcode 3163 is located approx 12 kms from Melbourne CBD.
Originally named after the ship 'Glen Huntly' that arrived in Port Phillip in 1840, from Scotland. The ship was forced to land at Little Red Bluff (now Point Ormond) where Victoria's first quarantine station was formed to deal with the many sick people on board. Supplies and provisions were brought down what became known as Glen Huntly Road.
Glenhuntly Post Office opened in 1907 and its name was changed to Glen Huntly in 1993. It is still greatly confusing whether to use 1 or 2 words, with signage and road maps displaying both.
The suburb is very well serviced by public transport, has many good schools in close proximity and a cosmopolitan blend of shops.
